A mandatory’s written, authorization and/or command to an entity, the mandatary to do what is mandated. Typically revocable until executed. For example, a check is a mandate issued by a bank’s customer to pay from this customer’s account balance as instructed. A mandate is automatically terminated on the bankruptcy, incapacitation, removal from office, or death of the mandatory. |
