释义 | A tax levied in England by St. 14 Car. II. c. 10, consisting of twoshillings on every hearth or stove in the kingdom. It was extremely unpopular, and wasabolished by 1 W. & M. St. 1, c. 10. This tax was otherwise called “chimney money.” |
