释义 | In old English law. A jury of twelve men sworn. Especially, a jury of the common law, as distinguished from the assisa. The jury clause in a nisi prius record, so called from the emphatic words of the old forms: “Jurata ponitur in rcspcctum,” the jury is put in respite. Townsh. PI. 487. Also a jurat, (which see.) |
