释义 | A decision taken by the government to absolve the crimes of a convict, and free him/ her from the prison sentence. All past records are treated as if they never occurred. Usually, the head of the state has the authority to ‘pardon’ a convict. Usually, convicts are pardoned because of varying situations, such as the age of the convict, or the turbulence in their family, etc. |
