Hague in Holland. There have been a number of these, and lawyers often by way of shorthand refer to a 'Hague Convention'. Notable are the Hague Conventions on the conduct of hostilities. However, there are a whole connected series arising out of The Hague Confer- ence on Private International Law, and intergovernmental organisa- tion whose statute came into force in July 1955.
