While it reflects verbatim what is said in Parliament, until very recently it could not be referred to for the purposes of STATUTORY INTERPRETA- TION. Since the decision of the House of Lords in Pepper v. Hart [1992] 3 WLR 1032, it is now permissible to refer to Hansard in cases ofAMBIGUITY. See also DEFAMATION. |
