| 释义 | Ogden tables Ogden tables a set of actuarial tables provided to assist in calculat- ing the amount of money payable as damages for loss of future ben- efits – especially future wage loss. They are named after the chair- man of the committee that devised them, Sir Michael Ogden QC. They are now admissible as evidence in England in terms of the Civil Evidence Act 1996. Essentially, they provide more scientific MULTIPLI- ERS, and they are usually higher multipliers than the courts would have chosen. They have been accepted in the UK by the courts as the proper starting point: Wells v. Wells [1998] 3 All ER 480. |
