| 释义 | embezzlement embezzlement in England, the CRIME of fraudulent appropriation by a clerk or servant to his own use of property delivered to or taken into possession of account of his employer. Since the Theft Act 1968 it is no longer an offence with a name of its own.In Scotland it is the felonious appropriation without the owner's CONSENT by a person who has received a limited ownership of prop- erty subject to restoration at a future time or with an obligation to account for it to the owner. The distinction between THEFT and embezzlement is not important in Scotland. |
