association agreement
An agreement between a member state of the European Union and a non-EU country or organization, as provided for in Article 217 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (formerly Treaty of Rome). The agreement, which may be with a country, a union of states, or an international organization, establishes an association involving reciprocal rights and obligations, common action, and special procedures. |
