It is based upon pay- ments for a qualifying CHILD by an ABSENT PARENT. It is channelled through a CHILD SUPPORT OFFICER.The ordinary courts are not involved. Appeals are possible to the Child Support Appeal Tribunal and the Child Support Commission- er. The ultimate appeal (for Scotland as well as England) is the English Court of Appeal.
