appropriations in aid
Formerly, the day-to-day revenue received by government departments and retained to meet expenditure instead of being paid into the Consolidated Fund. This income used to be voted by Parliament in the Supply Estimates. However, as a result of the Treasury’s Alignment Project (2010–11) expenditure is now voted net of income and the term appropriations in aid is no longer used. |
