blind trust
A trust in which the settlor transfers property to trustees to be held on trust for his own benefit on the basis that he will not know the nature of the investments being made by the trustees. This type of arrangement would prevent the settlor from being vulnerable to accusations of conflicts of interest between his private and professional life and is typically used by politicians and other public figures. |
