declaration concerning pedigree
A declaration made by a person who has subsequently died, or to be inferred from family conduct, concerning a disputed pedigree of a blood relation or the spouse of a blood relation. The declaration must have been made before the dispute in which it is tendered as evidence had arisen. A declaration concerning pedigree has traditionally been admissible at common law as an exception to the hearsay rule. |
