employers’ association An organization whose members are wholly or mainly employers and whose principal purposes include the regulation of relations between employers and workers or trade unions. Under the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992, employers’ associations have similar legal status to trade unions, which means they are immune from certain civil proceedings in tort relating to the interference with contracts and the restraint of trade. An employers’ association may be set up as an incorporated or unincorporated body. |
