factor
n. An agent entrusted with the possession of goods (or documents of title representing goods) for the purposes of sale. A factor is likely to fall within the definition of a mercantile agent in the Factors Act 1889 and to have the powers of a mercantile agent. A factor has a lien over the goods entrusted to him that covers any claims against the principal arising out of the agency. |
