get n. A Jewish religious divorce, executed by the husband delivering a bill of divorce (which must be handwritten according to specific detailed rules) to his wife in the presence of two witnesses. Under the Matrimonial Causes Act 1973 s 10A a secular court may refuse to make a divorce order final until the parties declare that they have taken reasonable steps to dissolve the marriage according to certain religious laws (including delivery of the get).
