(injuria sine damno) [Latin: wrong without damage] A controversy in which, although no actual damage was done, a legal wrong still occurred. Thus, in Entick v Carrington (1765) 19 How St Tr 1029, 1066 (Lord Camden CJ); 95 ER 807, although no actual damage was caused by the trespass, it still amounted to a legal wrong to be punished by the law through the award of damages to the defendant. |
