licensed conveyancer
A person, other than a solicitor, who is qualified to practise conveyancing. Entry to this profession, which was created in 1985 in response to recommendations by the Farrand Committee, is by examination; the level of competence required, ethics, and professional conduct are regulated by the Council for Licensed Conveyancers. |
