Mental Health Tribunal A body that now forms part of the Health, Education and Social Care Chamber of the First-tier Tribunal. Its role is to hear applications and references for people detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended by the Mental Health Act 2007) or living in the community following the making of a conditional discharge, or a community treatment or guardianship order. It includes legally and medically qualified members appointed by the Lord Chancellor. There is a separate Mental Health Tribunal for Wales. |
