settlement of action
The voluntary conclusion of civil litigation by agreement of the parties. Settlement may be made at any time and may be recorded in a consent order. Settlement may be followed by the claimant filing a notice of discontinuance under Part 38 of the Civil Procedure Rules. See also Tomlin order. |
