Digital Case System
(DCS) An online system for dealing with cases brought by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) in the Crown Court. The court and the parties to the case are able to access evidential and administrative material from an electronic file managed by the CPS. Documents are considered to be served when they are uploaded onto the system. The digital case system does not apply to cases brought by other prosecuting agencies. Rules dealing with the service of electronic documents are set out in Part 4.6 of the Criminal Procedure Rules.
