Environment Agency
A non-departmental public body established under the Environment Act 1995. It is responsible for protecting the environment in England, notably by controlling pollution, regulating waste disposal, and managing water resources (including fisheries and flood defences). The Agency issues licences, permits, and authorizations, such as those required for the industrial abstraction of water or commercial carriage of waste.
