lex loci celebrationis
[Latin] The law of the place of celebration of a marriage. In private international law, this law governs such questions as the formalities required for a marriage (subject to four special exceptions), whether or not such a marriage is monogamous or polygamous, and possibly what law governs impotence or wilful refusal to consummate a marriage. |
