option to purchase
A right to purchase land from the owner at some time in the future on agreed terms. The option remains in force for an agreed time. Such an option should be registered as an estate contract if it affects unregistered land, or as a notice on the charges register of registered land. If it is correctly registered it may be enforced against any owner of the land, not just the person who granted it. |
