pl. n. 1. Persons who are involved in some transaction, e.g. the parties to a deed or a contract. 2. Persons who are involved in litigation, either civil or criminal. A party is defined in the Glossary to the Criminal Procedure Rules as a person or organization directly involved in a criminal case, either as prosecutor or defendant. See also joinder of parties. |
