释义 |
placement order A court order introduced by the Adoption and Children Act 2002 s 21 that authorizes a local authority to place a child who is under a care order (or in respect of whom the criteria for such an order are met) for adoption with prospective adopters. The placement order will give parental responsibility to the local authority and to the prospective adopters with whom the child is placed. Normally the consent of a parent or guardian (with parental responsibility) is required before an order can be made; however, consent can be dispensed with if the court considers that the best interests of the child require it to do so. The placement order will last until an adoption order is made, or until it is revoked. |
