释义 |
share transfer (stock transfer) A document transferring registered shares to a new owner. A share transfer in proper form has to be delivered to the company before it can place the transferee’s name on the register of members (Stock Transfer Act 1963). This process can now be carried out electronically using, for example, the central securities depository for markets in the UK and Ireland (CREST). See transfer of shares; see also stamp duty reserve tax. |
