Taylor Review of Modern Working Practices A review commissioned by the UK government in 2016 to consider the effect of current business trends on employment practices and to look at any necessary changes in law or policy. The review, which was carried out by a team under Matthew Taylor, focused on newly emerging forms of work in the digital and gig economies and considered their impact on employee rights and responsibilities, employer freedoms and obligations, and the UK’s existing regulatory framework. Good Work: The Taylor Review of Modern Working Practices was published in July 2017 and led directly to the so-called Good Work Plan of 2018, a document setting out the government’s vision for the future of the UK labour market. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/good-work-the-taylor-review-of-modern-working-practices • Text of the Taylor Review of Modern Working Practices from the GOV.UK website https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/good-work-plan • Text of the Good Work Plan |
