Care Standards Tribunal A body originally established by the Protection of Children Act 1999 that hears appeals on a variety of matters in relation to persons and organizations working with children. For example, a person may appeal against the inclusion of his name on the list of those considered to be unsuitable to work with children (the children’s barred list) or against a refusal to register him as a childminder. The first-instance tribunal is now formally known as the First-tier Tribunal (Care Standards) and there is also an Upper Tribunal. |
