entering judgment A procedure in civil courts in which a judgment is formally recorded by the court after it has been given. Under Part 40 of the Civil Procedure Rules a judgment or order will normally be drawn up by the court unless the court orders a party to draw it up, or a party, with the permission of the court, agrees to draw it up. Every judgment or order must bear the date on which it was given or made and must be sealed by the court. |
