(FGM) Circumcision of the female genitalia that is not medically necessary. The Female Genital Mutilation Act 2003 makes it a criminal offence for anyone to perform as a principal, or to aid and abet, counsel, or procure, FGM within the UK, and for UK nationals or permanent residents of the UK to do so inside or outside the UK. |
