limited title guarantee The benefit of a limited range of covenants implied into sales and other dispositions of land by the Law of Property (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1994. The main difference from a full title guarantee is that the seller does not guarantee that the disposition is free from all charges, encumbrances, and adverse rights. Instead, the seller covenants that he has not charged or encumbered the property since the last time it was transferred, or allowed anyone else to do so, and is not aware of anyone else doing so. |
