live link In court proceedings, audio and/or video equipment set up in order to enable evidence to be given from outside the court room in which a case is being heard (see video evidence). A live link may be used so that vulnerable witnesses can give evidence or where witnesses are out of the jurisdiction. Live links are also commonly used for procedural hearings in the magistrates’ court and Crown Court when the accused is on remand, so as to avoid having to arrange for the accused to be transported to court. |
