释义 |
Finance Bill A money bill ealing with taxation matters, introduced to Parliament each year to enact the Budget proposals. Income tax and corporation tax are annual taxes, which means that each requires a bill each year to impose a tax charge for the year. The Finance Bill is published a few weeks after the Budget and then passes through the committee stages of the House of Commons, after which it goes for a formal Lords reading as, constitutionally, the House of Lords is unable to amend a money bill. The Finance Bill then receives royal assent and becomes the year’s Finance Act. |
