General Court
The first court of appeal from decisions of the European Commission. As the Court of First Instance it was established under powers conferred by the Single European Act 1986 and began to operate in October 1989. Appeals from the court are to the European Court of Justice. The court was renamed the General Court under the Lisbon Treaty, which extended its jurisdiction. |
