access to neighbouring land Under the Access to Neighbouring Land Act 1992 one landowner has a right to go onto the land of another for the purpose of carrying out necessary repairs or maintenance to his own property. An access order can be granted by the County Court; this will specify the extent of the access and any compensation to be paid. The access order must be registered to be binding on future purchasers of the land to which access has been granted (see land registration). |
