prerogative orders Orders issued by the High Court in exercising its supervisory jurisdiction over inferior courts, tribunals, and public authorities. They include mandatory orders, prohibiting orders, and quashing orders. Relevant rules are set out in Part 54 of the Civil Procedure Rules. See also habeas corpus; judicial review. |
