Activities of Transnational Corporations Treaty
A treaty proposed by the United Nations Human Rights Council in 2014; if successful, it will strengthen international cooperation to prevent human rights abuses in the context of business activities, while providing access to justice and remedies for victims. The draft of October 2019 affirms that the scope of the proposed treaty encompasses all business enterprises, not just transnational companies, although the emphasis falls on those with transnational activities.
