释义 |
temporary employee An employee who is employed for a specified period or for a specific task; such employees benefit from exactly the same protections as their permanent counterparts so long as they meet the appropriate length of continuous employment. Under the Fixed-term Employees (Prevention of Less Favourable Treatment) Regulations 2002, temporary employees are entitled not to be treated any less favourably than permanent employees if they are doing the same or similar work. It is open to the employer to justify less favourable treatment if he can show a good reason. Note that the Regulations, unlike those applying to part-time workers, extend only to employees and not to workers. |
