International Centre for the Settlement of International Disputes (ICSID) A forum for resolving international investment disputes. Established in 1966 by the Convention on the Settlement of Investment Disputes between States and Nationals of Other States (the ICSID Convention ), it is often cited in investment treaties, investment laws, and contracts as the appropriate forum for resolving any dispute. Its founding Convention is a multilateral treaty formulated by the directors of the World Bank (see International Bank for Reconstruction and Development) to further its objective of promoting international investment.
