Masters of the High Court Inferior judicial officers of the Queen’s Bench and Chancery Divisions of the High Court. Their principal function is to supervise interim proceedings in litigation and (especially in the Chancery Division) to take accounts. By convention, Chancery Masters used to be solicitors and Queen’s Bench Masters used to be barristers. In the provinces, a comparable jurisdiction is exercised by district judges of the High Court.
