micro-entity
A term created to give effect to a set of simplified accounts-reporting requirements for very small businesses. A micro-entity is defined by Companies Act 2006 s 384A as a business that satisfies at least two of the following conditions:

Public companies, financial institutions, and charities cannot be micro-entities.

Financial Reporting Standard 105 gives instruction on the content of accounts for a micro-entity, adherence to which satisfies UK generally accepted accounting practice, as required for tax purposes.
