Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) The regulatory arm of the Law Society: an independent body established in 2007 to regulate the professional practice, conduct, and discipline of solicitors. The SRA admits solicitors to the profession and issues annual practising certificates, without which a solicitor may not practice. It also publishes the SRA Code of Conduct and may take action against solicitors who are found to have breached it; serious cases are referred to the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal.
