Information that is inscribed on, stored in or otherwise fixed on a tangible medium or that is stored in an electronic or other medium and is retrievable in a perceivable form: Electronic Transactions Ordinance (Cap 553) s 2(1). 3. Written documents or other authentic memorial or an occurrence, event, or transaction. 4. An authentic account of a court action and proceedings, consisting of its facts and pleadings, but not usually the evidence presented in court. Decision, the reasons, if any, as are given for that decision, and any other material or instrument identified therein with a sufficient degree of particularity for it to be construed as forming part of a record: R v Medical Appeal Tribunal, ex p Gilmore [1957] 1 QB 574, 1 All ER 796 (CA). Court records are preserved and kept in the archives of a court of record.
