causing loss by unlawful means
An unlawful interference with the actions of a third party in which the claimant has an economic interest, with an intention to cause loss to the claimant. Acts are only unlawful if they are actionable by the third party in civil law. The torts of “interfering with contractual relations” and intimidation are now encompassed within this tort (OBG Ltd v Allan [2007] UKHL 21, [2008] 1 SC 1).
