formal validity of a will In private international law, a rule determining which country’s laws govern the formalities for the execution of a will where, for example, the testator had a foreign domicile or owned foreign assets. Under English law the position is governed by the Wills Act 1963 s 1: English rules of execution apply if, for example, the will is executed in England or the testator is domiciled in England.
