National Crime Agency (NCA) A government agency that replaced the former Serious Organized Crime Agency from October 2013: it also took over certain responsibilities of the UK Border Agency. There are four separate commands: Organized Crime, Economic Crime, Border Policing, and the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre. The National Cyber Crime Unit is also a subdivision of the NCA. The purpose of the Agency is to coordinate the response to serious and organized crime across Great Britain: it has no jurisdiction in Northern Ireland. |
