| 释义 | 濱海帶 An area of water over which a coastal state maintains some type of right or jurisdiction. On the seaward side in order of distance and decreasing jurisdiction are the maritime zones of the territorial sea, contiguous zone, and exclusive economic zone (EEZ): United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea 1982 arts 3, 33, 57. In some circumstances, the continental shelf, in which states have sovereignty over the seabed and subsoil, may extend beyond the 200 miles of the EEZ: art 76. On the landward side of the baseline are the internal waters over which the state maintains complete and exclusive jurisdiction: art 8. United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea 1982 is in force and applicable to Hong Kong. The Declaration of the Government of the People’s Republic of China on the Territorial Sea and the Law of the People’s Republic of China on the Territorial Sea and the Contiguous Zone apply to Hong Kong with effect from 1 July 1997. The Law of the People’s Republic of China on the Exclusive Economic Zone and the Continental Shelf applies to Hong Kong with effect from 26 June 1998.
