| 释义 | 免償債務 Loans not repaid and simply cancelled as a favour or consideration to the debtor. Forgiveness has become part of the strategy in dealing with the debt of developing countries. Until recently, leading governments have believed that debtors should repay their debts; now forgiveness has become part of the menu of debt options with all the resulting loss being borne by the taxpayers of the lending governments and the banks.
