| 释义 | 傳閱發布 The distribution of a publication to a person or persons other than those whom it describes. Each publication gives rise to a separate action if the original publication is defamatory. Equally, all persons who participate in the circulation of a defamatory publication are liable. Printers, booksellers, and libraries are also liable if they know or have reasons to know or suspect that they are dealing with defamatory material: Vizetelly v Mudie’s Select Library Ltd [1900] 2 QB 170. The publisher will be exempted from liabilities if publication is innocent and the publisher makes an offer of amends (which is accepted by the party aggrieved and duly performed): Defamation Ordinance (Cap 21) s 25.
